Physician Alignment
A transformative healthcare organization begins with the alignment of values between hospitals and their physicians.
For over 20 years, we have worked with medical facilities, both large and small, to enhance productivity and create effective staffing models.
Dynafios consultants bring direct experience within the healthcare industry and understand the common problems providers face. Our goal is to help ensure your team runs more efficiently and stays compliant, so you can focus on what matters.
Alignment Begins with Shared Values
With the multitude of viewpoints, new regulations, and high demands, reaching alignment in the healthcare industry can be complex.
True alignment begins with a shared value and trust between physicians and their organizations. When misalignment is apparent, it can create a domino effect leading from lower physician satisfaction to then impacting the quality of patient care.
Key Focus Areas
Value-Based Enterprise
Healthcare systems have reached a period where value-based care is not an option, it’s becoming the new norm. Our consultants can help you uncover opportunities to improve care coordination and cost reduction.
Co-Management Model
Our process begins with setting expectations and developing a shared vision among physicians and hospitals. While there are many details to work through, the overall structure of a co-management arrangement is straightforward.
Compliance & FMV Opinion Letters
Agreement on pay between hospitals and physicians isn’t enough. Federal laws require compensation to reflect Fair Market Value (FMV), driving emphasis on quality over volume and value of referrals.
Value-Based
Enterprise
Traditional health industry models rewarded volume, increasing the risk of gaps in patient care quality. A Value-Based Enterprise or VBE is a strategic framework that helps physicians and healthcare organizations align around a shared performance goal.
Commonly Asked Questions
A VBE can be considered a network of providers engaged in value-based activities. Any type of organization can be a Value-Based Enterprise, including CIN, ACO, or another qualifying group of collaborating providers.
There must be an accountable body or person responsible for the financial and operational oversight of the VBE, and a governing document that describes the VBE, its purpose, and the participant's intent to achieve the value-based outcomes.
Value-based purpose describes the key elements that make up value-based care. They include:
- Care Coordination
- Quality of Care Improvement
- Reduction of Cost without Reducing Quality
- Transition in Payments from Volume to Value
Structuring relationships with providers through a VBE provides new opportunities to target activities related to care coordination, directed referrals, and cost standardization given the new AKS and Stark safe harbors and exceptions.
Partnering with post-acute providers can now include in-kind remuneration, such as cost sharing for Care Coordinators. Direct referrals to specific providers or suppliers are allowed for the target patient population.
A value-based arrangement is a written agreement specifying the target patient population and value-based activities to achieve the VBE purpose. It must include the target population, description of the remuneration, and the term of the agreement.
